When is a blocked email not a blocked email?

Why is it you block someone's email on your Virgin email, and it still lets the them through, even though sometimes its to trash, but sometimes it's to the inbox. You try to block them again, thinking you haven't blocked them in the first place, and it say's you have already added them to the block list...Well if I have, Why are you still letting them through?

The block function in VM webmail simply sets a rule to move future emails from that source to be moved to Spam.

    It doesn't block them entirely.

  • Hi

Like other people I was fed up with blocked emails coming through from the same sender (sometimes I was getting 10 in one day).

I tried setting a filter rule to file the emails, which all come from the same address, into Trash. However that didn't work.

So I have set  a new rule which redirects the emails to "phishing@virginmedia.com"

Maybe they'll do something about spam emails now.

That inbox will get full before they do anything, and ironically you'll be sent an email saying it's full!

      Hi coldonmac,

Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm sorry to hear you're having some issues with unwanted emails. To clarify, are you saying that the filter that you set up to direct them elsewhere stopped working?

      Thanks,

        Hi.

No. I firstly set up a filter to direct them to Trash and that didn't work, so I set up a rule to redirect. As yet I don't know if that will work.
