Removing additonal accounts on My Virgin Media

I have received a postal letter, addressed to *main account user*, stating:

"We have identified you as being an *additional* My Virgin Media account user.  You will be terminated on *two weeks from today*.."

On this account, there are 2 admin account users and 7 email accounts, from decades old blueyonder account to multiple email@virginmedia.com  box users all of which are active.  That the account will reduce itself to 'one main VM admin user' is ok, but I need to know, is email being affected here, which Virgin admin account is being deleted exactly (?), and why is this whole process so Kafkaesque bizarre, as per?

Seriously, you cannot go sending out letters stating 'you are being deleted' with zero further information.  Its like you hate PAYING customers.

Thank you for your post. 

Whilst we can confirm that we are in the process of terminating email addresses with the virgin.net domain not attached to an active service, we are not deleting any other email accounts or My Virgin Media accounts. Does the letter specify exactly what email addresses/accounts will be terminated? Do you know if all email accounts you have with us are under one active Broadband account?

I'm not a VM employee but my understanding is that "additional" accounts refers to additional "My Virgin Media" accounts which do not have a VM email address associated with them.

One of the Forum Team (VM staff who support this forum) will contact you via this forum post and clarify all this for you.

I am sure you know this already but you can see the "additional" My Virgin Media and email accounts linked to your VM broadband account by signing into the My Virgin Media account where youview your VM bills, then:

  • click on Account settings
  • then on My VirginMedia account details
  • then scroll down and click on Manage other My Virgin Media accounts

I hope that puts your mind at rest about your email accounts being at risk. As to your other questions, well the Forum Team are best place to answer those.

I  had a letter stating the same and that I am an additional My Virgin Media account user - I am the main account holder. Following the instructions above it will not let me delete any addional ones and there are two live email accounts, can the Forum Team menbers please confirm that actual email accounts will not be deleted please?

The information that coenoby has advised is correct, we will be closing down additional accounts that don't have an email address attached, we're making these changes to additional accounts to improve our online security.
