Old email hacked

Hi

My old virginmedia email address has been hacked, trying to log into accounts etc... I've changed all passwords etc, but I want to delete this email account permanently? I can no longer access this one despite being a virgin customer

Is this an option ? 

They have been deleting items in my inbox, threatening me, the usual, all reported to action fraud

Thank you, I have replied, getting so many reset passwords, they got Into my o2 account overnight and attempted to place an order! Please help me !
