How do I delete folders in "My Folders" in Virgin Mail

Hi,

I have just installed Outlook on my new PC and during that process, hundreds of folders have been created in Virgin Mail in "My Folders" in VM Mail. These need to be deleted but if I try to do that I get this message:

"Could not delete folder. This can be due to insufficient permissions in your trash folder or this might be a special folder that cannot be deleted."

The folders look like this:

Until I can delete them in VM they won't go away in Outlook. Help please.

I stopped using Outlook quite a while ago but I used it for many years but  and never experienced that with Outlook creating search folders.

Those MS-OLK folders have definitely been created by Microsoft (MS)  Outlook (OLK). As a result, personally I would be hesitant about deleting them unless you know for certain that it will not cause any issues with Outlook.

If you are not sure about the consequences of deleting them then you would be well advised to raise the question on the Microsoft Community Forum  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us

You need to determine:

1) whether it is ok to delete those Outlook folders and if so.....

2) how to do it from within Outlook rather than from your VM webmail account.

Having said that, there is a work around to circumvent the error message you are getting when you try to delete them from your VM webmail account. However, I'm extremely reluctant to post that in case it causes further problems with your Outlook installation or your VM webmail account.
