Changed email name accidentally

Trying to get gmail to work on tablet with my Virgin ntlworld email. Needed password for account and knew that I needed Virgin generated one. Clicked on Manage email and saw 'change email address. Thought this was a recovery email. Now it looks as if I have my work email as my email name. I have not clicked the verify email but want to go back to the original email  name. Can't do anything else as it says that I have changed the name and need to verify. Help!

Actually, no that's not what has happened. It is confusing though.

Your VM email address and account will remain exactly as before. However, your work email address will become the username to sign into your VM email account.

So once you have completed the verification process, when you sign into your VM webmail account or your My Virgin Media account, you will need to enter your work email address (rather than your VM email address) and your VM password .

The accounts themselves will remain unchanged and you will still be able to send and receive emails with  your existing VM email address using your VM account..

VM now insist that you use a non VM email address as your username so you will have to change it.
