I have the same issue and error message 0x800CCC0F as the first post. It happened this afternoon and all my outgoing Virgin mail got stuck my desktop Outlook 365 Outbox. Outgoing mail via My Virgin Media web seems to have no issue. Spoke to Virgin's support desk and was told the IP on my Virgin Hub 4 was blocked and should be resolved by 5th May as the Hub4 will generate a new IP but I am not sure how true. So why wait till 5th May ? I have configured my Hub4 as a modem and connected to an Asus wireless router.
If anyone else has this issue please advise how he/she had it resolved.

I have the same issue and error message 0x800CCC0F as the first post. It started yesterday. Tried sending again this morning getting stuck mail in Outbox in my desktop Outlook 365. Still no joy. Any advice will be appreciated.

It would be helpful to see what error code is returned by the SMTP server in this situation. From a desktop or laptop device open a Command Prompt in Windows and enter the following where username:password is replaced with your email address and password, i.e. richard.branson@virginmedia.com:rotavator-racecar-tenet-repaper:
curl -v smtps://smtp.virginmedia.com -u username:password
Do not post the resulting output here but instead review it for possible reported causes, i.e. VM error code; choosing to ignore this advice and posting the unredacted or incorrectly redacted output here will likely reveal your email address, password and / or public IP Address.
FYI if there is no issue then you should see the following output from the curl command:

Just got it sorted. It transpired that I had to change My Virgin Media login password and my Virginmedia email With this newly generated PW have to change my My Virgin Media web login and my Outlook 365 desktop mail client Virginmedia mail account (under Server Settings) to this newly generated Pw. Previously, I only changed my Outlook 365 mail client server settings Pw.

Two question:
1. Is the password to log in to My Virgin Media web access is an app generated specific password that look like this :xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx all in lowercase letters ?
2. Is the app generated password as described is also the password to be changed to in my Outlook 365 Mail Account Settings ie. under File/AccountSetings/Server Settings ?

Q1 No, the My Virgin Media account and VM webmail password is whatever you set it to be.
Q2 Yes, the app generated password is for use with email clients such as Outlook 365

Do you have to reset the the password to log into My Virgin Media Web access and my Outlook 365 Virgin email account password under server settings at the same time ? Are they both app generated or the WM web access PW can be anything I choose. There is a bit of confusion here as even Virgin's Tech Support don't get it right first time.
At the moment I have the following error on my Outlook 365 which I think might be due to me setting 2 passwords differently.

@wing It is best to keep your questions to your own thread rather than spreading them over old threads in the forum.
You may be having issues due to the different username/password combinations that VM now use.
For access to your My Virgin Media account and VM webmail your username will be the third party email address that you used when changing the password. The password is the one that you chose.
When using an email app such as Outlook 365 the username is your full virgin media email address and the password is the app generated one created via the My Virgin Media account.
