Have you missed Match of the Day? Do you absolutely need to binge on the latest season of Luther? We know you love all the great BBC content you can get through the iPlayer app on your Virgin TV service, and we wanted to let you know how you can keep enjoying all the TV you love with the recent iPlayer changes.

The iPlayer app recently updated – so you’ll now need to sign in the first time you access the app through your Virgin TV service. We show you how to sign in to the app below so you can spend more time watching the shows you love.

Before you go any further: Make sure to sign up for a BBC account (link: bbc.com/account), you’ll need this to access iPlayer. You’ll need a second device capable of internet access (phone, tablet, laptop etc) to sign in during the process.

  1. When you access the app through your TV, you’ll be presented with a screen asking you to sign in or register, click Sign in.
  2. The screen will then update to show a code, use your second device to sign in.
  3. If you’re already registered, you’ll get the option to enter the code from your TV on your second device, do so and click Sign in on your TV. If you’re not registered, you’ll need to register at this stage and enter the code once you’re done.
  4. The iPlayer app on your TV will automatically recognise when you’ve entered the code on your second device, you’ll just need to click Continue on the TV once the screen updates.
  5. You’ll be presented with the BBC iPlayer Connected TV Privacy Notice, you’ll need to accept this to go any further.
  6. That’s it, you’re in! Once you’ve done this for the first time, your TV will remain signed in unless you actively select to sign out by clicking the account option.

We hope this article proves helpful in getting you set up on to watch on the iPlayer app through your Virgin TV service.  If you’re struggling after following these steps, there's a BBC help article should you need it. If you need any help from us, take a look at our Virgin TV forum.

Whether you love sport, drama, soaps or documentaries, we love a good natter about TV. Drop by our Community Natter board and let us know what you’re watching now.
