my wife and i are both pensioners of 78 and 75 and we got the opportunity to live with our son in Australia on a sponsored Visa , so called Virgin Media today to cancel our BB and they said you still have 8 months to run which will cost you £150 to cancel , unless you get a family member to take it over , so i said don't cancel and leave it running and i wont use it , you would think they would use a bit of discretion in some circumstances perhaps i should have said he has died , but i suppose you will still have to pay ,

I was going to be sympathetic for a moment given that VM waive fees for those who move outside their network area within the UK but not outside of the UK but then saw your weird and tasteless suggestion that you should say your son is dead and also that you tried the same OAP card a couple of years ago https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/rising-charges/td-p/4838866

There are not any ten pound poms anymore and people have to fund any... emigration process with their own cash so if its a new life and a new start... some would say its well worth paying for it ... you do not want to leave debts behind as they can and have a habit of worry and stress for the future... for myself maybe I would say farewell and adieu to the UK and VM ..and clear my debts .. hey ho they could trace if you return .. just saying 😃
