Evening all.

iv been a virgin customer for a number of years , paid my dues on time without fail, now I want cancel my services due to end of contract term, customer services reps keep passing me from retentions to home moving department for lady 2 days and still no joy.

They are making it impossible to leave and will not action my request to cancel.

I have now cancelled my direct debit in protest and will be writing and send a recorded delivery letter to head office to complain abt the shoddy customer service Iv received and request they cancel my service.

how dare they treat people with this level of contempt, should I get no reply I will go to the ombudsman to investigate.

anyone else had problems trying leaving virmin

media ?

Thanks

  1. Never cancel your Direct Debit. VM won't care, they'll just send bailiffs round to collect what you 'owe'.
  2. Send a recorded letter by post https://www.virginmedia.com/help/cancel-virgin-media
  3. VM are currently being investigated by Ofcom https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/bulletins/enforcement-bulletin/open-cases/cw_01275#:~:text=Ofco....
  4. Your complaint will be filed with others under resolved without any word on how or what has been done to resolve (It won't be resolved).

Thanks for your answer, these people are unbelievable, ignorant individuals.

This is really surprising, when I cancelled earlier this month I didn't have any such issues at all, just told them I wanted to put in my notice, was accepted and then later that day got an email to confirm.

Try calling and going through to the I'm changing address which then allows you to select I'm thinking of leaving, that's what I did.

Have to agree though it is a major PITA, took me over 40 mins of being on hold before I spoke to somebody.

Early days but I just last week signed up to Community Fibre, had a query and got through to their CS within minutes and they answered my query there and then, maybe too early and too small a customer base but there again I'm easily impressed 🙂

Don't worry about cancelling the DD, just keep an eye on bills and use the online payment system, as you don't want to get into a world of pain. No extra charge for no DD.

However, the online billing does not display any credits due at cancellation. The payment page is aware of them.
