AI Bots ?

Just reading some of the replies this morning and at least 3 of them are, IMHO, bots.  Such long winded contrived answers !

Was just about to add something about this myself. The editing function on posts was removed allegedly due to spamming but I notice the AI-type posts far more than I ever did spam posts.

The fact they keep popping up unchecked (and have done for a while) makes you wonder if they aren't actually appearing on here as part of some sort of sanctioned trial.

I suspect it is indeed a trial. The VM CEO committed himself to more use of AI in an interview a while back. Also the only apparent beneficiary of these weird HAL-like posts is VM. I tag them with "AI generated". The format of the usernames is generally the same ie first name/two digits/last name and they are nearly all first posts that quickly disappear (perhaps after a slight delay to monitor if they get kudos etc). They also seem to appear at off peak times for the forum. Just saying.

Bot user account "Alma219Way" has happily been logged in for 27 days straight at time of posting with no apparent account sanction. How could this be?
