Stream box existing customer - now available?

I was informed by an installer a couple of months ago that Stream Boxes would be available to existing customers in July/August so if I could hold off it would save having to get a brand new wall drilled. Is that now the case? I am on VM 1GB Broadband with Mega TV and am looking to get a stream box to get TV in a room where the installer didnt think it was a good idea to drill for coax. I dont need multiroom, or to have my TV package available on the stream box (although that would be great) I would just like access to TV in the new room. A stream box would be the ideal solution if this is now available as the installer suggested.

  • It seems imminent but so far it's only for Xgs-pon customers with a Hub 5x AFAIK.

  • Hey Mav1874, thank you for reaching out and for your interest in having one our streams box.

You can check here to see if it will allow you to order one

As mentioned above this is correct but its worth checking for sure 🙂

It must not be available, which is disappointing as I was told to hang on till this month by the installer. Certainly there are no options to add one, although there are no options to add an additional box for multiroom anywhere that I can see. I'm also getting pixellation quite regularly so perhaps an additional coax box would make that worse.

If you’re getting pixelation then there’s a connection issue between your TV box and VM. Are all connections tight and no visible breaks. I would get engineer to take a look as could just need adjusting in the cabinet.

Mixing of Broadcast (V360) & IPTV (Stream box) on accounts is unlikely to happen. The channel providers see these as two separate delivery systems, & you subscribe to either one or the other. The broadcast technology will eventually become obsolete when VM goes completely over to XGS-PON anyway.
