Lag Spikes/Packet Loss in rocket league for the last 3-4 week

I Play Rocket League pretty much everyday. Sometimes during the day, sometimes evenings. Regardless of the time of day I could have a great game with 0 lag (5 minute games), or I could have a game where I will lag and have packet loss for 20-30 seconds. Some games it will never happen but then some it will happen game after game. I'd say 1 in every 4-7 games I will experience a 20-30 second lag spike.

Nothing else on my network, I'm a network admin so understand networking and have all my devices hardwired. Is there anything I can do to check this? I never had this issue when my internet was first installed but the last 4 weeks its been much more frequent. I never had this issue on my old Open Reach ADSL line.

No other downloads or uploads are going on during this time, broadband quality monitor also shows the packet loss. What can I check or anything I can try

Try checking with Area faults on 0800 561 0061 or if you have a VM landline 150 as small local faults are not listed on the VM status page

Check all connections are at least "finger" tight as loose connections can cause noise ingress.

Post the power levels, Pre and PostRS errors and network log from the Hub.

    Once done we can comment.

As an aside, the DOCIS technology will have more inherent lag than your older ADSL, just by it's nature.

      Hi, Thanks for the reply.

No loose connections for any of my internet network.

Where would I find these Power Levels, Pre and Post RS and the network logs to export?

I can image full fibre should be having lag spikes when it is the brand new network which will be supporting up to 10GBps in the future. These fibre cables should surley be much better than old copper lines.

What Hub do you have and what speed tier?  If you have a fibre connection you must have a Hub 5X and running XSGPON, in which case I've no idea about the menus on that Hub.

Otherwise, you will not be on fibre, but will be using co-ax cables.?

You need to make your own BQM not use the sample

Guess you just have to wait for modem mode in the meantime you should look at some better routers

I've posted something similar in the gaming support section. Same sort of issues. But I've only had Virgin for about a month. Regret leaving BT. Had slightly slower speeds but never had any latency issues. But the looks of your graph you appear to have the same issues as me. Lots of jitter and high spikes of latency which makes playing any FPS impossible. I will be cancelling this contract and I won't be paying a penny because from what I've seen in the forums, this issue appears to be impacting lots of people with no resolution.

Glad its not just me then, does yours seem to only lag a few times, some days it may not even lag or on the rare occasion or only 1 or two times. Some days it will lag multiple times ever 10-30 minutes or so. Have you had an engineer out or anything or complained to support about the issue and what have they said about it if you have?

        Hey harveyl12,

Thanks for getting back to us with regards to your issue, I can see from the system that you have recently had a technician out to look into your services, were they able to help provide any further information as to what could be affecting you?
