All last week there were massive packet bursts in MW2. So much so, I created a post on here to look for help as Activision claimed it was a Virgin Media issue after sending them my dxdiag file.
Then randomly it started working again the day after. Super smooth, max settings etc so I assumed it had fixed itself. Then I had a new problem at the weekend where the games launcher wouldn't even boot up or kept quitting back to desktop after starting.
After lots of searching and messing around I checked Virgin's server status page and there was a notice saying there was an outage in my area affecting CoD and Destiny players. Wish I'd have known this before refreshing my Windows 11 installation. Roll eyes*
A couple of hours later all seemed to be normal again for the rest of the night but all day today, the launcher keeps quitting back to desktop after launch. No notice on Virgin's server status page this time, though.
What's the point of even having the app or even following them on Twitter if they're not even going to bother sending you notifications or texts etc on national or local outages?
Anyway, looks like it's back to single player games for the evening...
