Old ntlworld email hacked

Just wondering if you would be able to help , i have an old ntlworld email address that has been hacked and the password has been changed.  It says that its an invalid email address when ive tried to log in to virgin media and delete it . Hasn't been active for around 5 years so have not been able to use it to send but could still receive emails and it was still connected to other accounts.  Are you please able to delete it?
