Yes I have had a nil account for years. It stopped working around 6 pm last night
That's fine, it's just VM have been removing mailboxes from non paying ex-customers. How are you accessing the mailbox, via Webmail or a 3rd party software / app? Please check the information in this link How to manage your email server settings | Virgin Media Help

I am a fully paid up customer and my emails are now screwed up this afternoon.
Yes I have had a nil account for years. It stopped working around 6 pm last night
I am having the same problem with my ntlworld account, been a VM customer for years and not the first time I have been locked out of my e-mail account and requested to create a new password. There's never any "data breach" either. What is going on? I can't read e-mail online now but I can do it on my phone.
Just happened to me on my ntlworld and virginmedia accounts, both now totally unavailable to send or receive. I've been with Virgin 20+yrs and never missed a payment.
They were working just fine a couple of hours ago.
It suggests generating a new app password from my account settings but when I do that I get "something went wrong".
My advice would be to sit tight and do nothing for a while. I have the same issue with webmail, but email on iPad is working fine.
Same here fully paid up for 20 odd years, it was fine 30 minutes ago now I get nothing either webmail or via Microsoft outlook
Yep mines the same. YET AGAIN , working perfectly this morning now nothing . Its unavailable. They have locked me out. The main problem is how to get it back its sooooo complicated. Is there a problem with the ntlworld.com email. Please unlock it
Can't get into any of our VM addresses.
Assuming it's a backend thing as it's all our accounts at the same time :(

I can't get emails to work and can't get into webmail. I'm assuming from the above there is a system issue. It doesn't get a mention on Service status - maybe someone at VM could get that updated, otherwise it's a pointless bit of info. It's not the first time it doesn't show an email issue.

i have been told my account has been discontinued. No notice given, I have already lost money and will continue too until all my clients get my alternative address
Also lost access to NTLWorld email and can't log in to my virgin media account. VM website says there are no problems with the service but moderator says they know about the problem so why don't you admit this on the website.

Hi all spent most of the day trying to sort it out. I have been told that the account has been closed (discontinued). I have been and still am a customer for over 20 years. I have a ticket in the system which basically means that I may get temp access for a short period. No notice the help desk were not informed just read off a screen. I have filed a formal complaint
