NTL world account hacked .

Hello,

My NTL world account has been hacked . I have had this email account since I signed up with Virgin ?NTL along time ago .

When I discovered it was hacked , the spam emails coming to me asking for $500  to stop the spam gave me a clue that something wasn't right .

I duly contact virgin through the normal channels and after a period of absolute torment , I was informed that they no longer supported NTL and couln't help !

I then did further internet searches and If I understand correctly, I have to come to this community and ask the help of someone who works forVirgin to assist in this matter .

I believe that issue is to do with the fact that theNTL World email is the one used when I signed and it's locked into the account .

Anyway , hopefull I havemade my predicament clear and someone can help .

Thanks .

In fact full truth is that Virgin Media do still support Ntlworld.com email accounts (along with Blueyonder.co.uk, Virgin.net and Virginmedia .com email accounts) but only if the email account is still linked to a current live VM broadband account.

If you are still a VM broadband customer then the Forum Team (VM staff) should be able to help you. One the Team will contact you via this forum thread and take your details via the Private Message facility.

If you are no longer a paying VM customer then all the team can do is to arrange for the Ntlworld account to be deleted. That will stop the hacker from sending spam or scam messages from your account.

The team work through the forum posts in date order so it will be tomorrow or possibly Monday before they get to your post.

  • Hello,

I  have the same problem, I put up a post several days ago and I'm waiting for a private message to come through .

    regards Bill

  • 10 days ago I reported that me NTL world account had been hacked .

I was told that someone from Virgin would be in touch through private message.

I have not received any communication by private message .

I had a reply asking if the the problem had been sorted which I replied to as no it hadn't .

I have just gone to my email account and it telling me that

"  Virgin Media Mail account is locked, or because you don’t have an active account with us anymore."

Great, so thanks for telling me !!

Is the problem being looked at ?

    What is going on ?

Do you have a VM broadband account that this email is linked to?  If not, it may simply have been deleted by VM.

OldBill74. It seems that the VM Forum Team have missed this thread hence no PM sent.  I have escalated it for them to respond to.

        thank you .

I had a look at the

"  Virgin Media Mail account is locked, or because you don’t have an active account with us anymore."

I followed the instructions and I have set up a new password for my NTL world account and all seems ok .

It appears that something was done but I wasn't notified ?

Thanks again for the reply .
