Lost virgin.net address

My family had kept an @virgin.net address for years and it's now come to a close. I didn't have time to transfer all accounts linked to this email address over to my new email. Is there a way to recover the archives of my old emails so that I can continue transferring over accounts?

  • Hi ikebloom 👋.

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community Forums, apologies that you have Lost your mailbox with us. If you do not have any live Virgin Media services we apologise those mailboxes will be removed and cannot be restored to obtain Information that you require. We did advise those customers of the impending closure for those customers via postal communication.

    We do apologise for this.

If the account has been closed by VM then all your emails in all your folders will have gone.  VM itself doesn't keep backups.

Email records seem to be deleted in stages. When you send an email to that .net address, does it bounce back?  If it doesn't there may be something left to retrieve, and in some cases VM have been able to help. But they seem to be less likely now to help.

If the mailbox has been deleted by VM, there is no option to recovery this.

However, why do you say it is closed?  Are you not a paying VM broadband customer?  If you are still paying, it may just be "orphaned" and it may be possible to link it back to your account.

As an aside, mailboxes are not a long term storage solution, and regular backups should be kept for this sort of eventualities.
