Locked out of email app

Hi - I have used an app to access my ntlworld email address for 10+yrs. All of a sudden I cannot access my emails via this app, I have to put my password in. I understand this password has to be a password specific to the use of an app, as opposed to a Virgin media account password. I don’t know my password, I’ve seen the advice on how to create/change the password directing me via settings, but the directions on what to click bears no resemblance to anything I can find online (via settings). Can somebody please give a link where I can just change my email app password 🙏 

 

this has happened since I was FORCED to create a virgin media 02 login. I have no idea why, because I have no 02 products.

    You had to create a new VMO2ID because VM and O2 merged some time ago and they are merging the two systems.  Having no O2 account is irrelevant,  I don't have one either.

    As for the password, try as below;

    Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID
    Select Account Settings
    Select Identity & Security Settings
    Select Manage your products
    Select Manage email app password
    Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

    I would suggest if you do get access, you move your mail to another mail provider that is not tied to any ISP.  You can use something like Mailstore Home to archive your mailbox to local storage for safe keeping.
