locked out of e mail

Had e mail today to say I  am locked out of e mail and have  to supply new passwords etc, seemed a lot of hassle for a 85 yr old like me.Was concerned it was a scam so I rang Virgin( got through in 3 mins and spoke to a very helpful person called Mahdee who said he would ring  Friday and explain it all as they were having problems .Have since read on line it could have sent by mistake. However 2hrs later I tried e mail again and it all came back !! Thank you Virgin.
