IP address blocked?

I use Thunderbird as my desktop email software...today I opened it and it said:

Temporarily blacklisted IP address

After going online to try and find out what is going on, it seems Virgin Media may have blocked my IP address for some reason?  Why, and can they unblock it please?

How do I get this resolved?  Please help!
