email client for my main email

I'm having a similar nightmare - ref P013194690

 Yesterday 4pm, my email client for my main email xxx@blueyonder.co.uk started asking for a password.  I tried the password (and after several other possible ones) but no joy. To rule out a email client problem I tried logging into the email account direct via the Virginmedia website webmail option. I just got a fail message (posted below). On phone support they talked me through changing the password but I still got the message below (and still now 24 hours later). The support guy assured me the account definitely isn't locked but that he would have to escalate it to the IT team and I wouldn't hear back for 2-5 working days. 

The message says it is either locked or no longer active which doesn't fill me with confidence. This is my main email which I have used for over 20 years and I need it for work and everything else is tied to it....family, friends, Amazon, utilities etc etc. I'm guessing/assuming there must be a quick easy fix (unless my whole account has been deleted without any warning). Any help would be massively appreciated.
