How do I access sub-user email addresses

I have been a VM customer since last century. I have my own primary ntlworld.com email address and I can control that fine. However, I would like to be able to control 2 sub-user email addresses (both ntlworld) that are still live email accounts but that I cannot control passwords for. When I create a VM/O2 ID for them, they want me to transfer my account to that email address. That is not what I want to do. Or is it ok to transfer? Will the primary email address remain as it is? It used to all work perfectly. Having spent several hours trying to communicate with VM, I am getting nowhere. Someone at VM said - 'ntlworld email addresses will be demolished'. I have an IT ticket with VM from last month but have heard nothing, even although they gave the timescale as 3 - 5 working days. I have since done an online chat and got nowhere. I have phoned them this morning and wasted a lot of time basically as it would seem that no-one that I spoke to really understands what I am asking. I thought I would ask on here and perhaps get a better answer. Thanks for any help.

pbm You mention creating VMO2ID's for the sub accounts and being asked to transfer your primary account. This suggests that you have tried to create the account using an email address that is different to your sub address.  When going through the VMO2ID process you should enter the ntlworld email address concerned (or the third party username for the account if you had previously set one).  This should then link to you secondary My Virgin Media mail account without requiring you to enter account numbers.

Thanks for the prompt response Graham. The VM/02 ID was created using the sub-user email address (not my primary address). It asks you to link to an account and you have to put in the account number - just wondering - how else would it know what account to attach it to? Thanks for your help - an my apologies if I am not fully understanding you. The whole system is pretty complex.

    • Graham - is there a way to delete an additional VM o2 ID that is no longer required please? Still related to the sub-user question.
  • "Someone at VM said - 'ntlworld email addresses will be demolished'."

I reckon all VM email addresses will be well and truly demolished in the short to medium term. It's all but been officially announced.

Most likely true, they haven’t given new users mailboxes for over three years now…
