Hacked email address

Hi all, 

I appreciate this topics come up a few times but my email account have been compromised by hackers who are sending rather sinister emails to myself which appear to be sent from my account making threats if I don't pay them in bit coin. 

They have attempted to hack other social media accounts but I think ive managed to sort those.

Essentially I'd like my email address to be deleted however I am now unable to unlock my virginmedia email account. 

Is there anyway I can delete the account without logging in?

    If the emails claim they have evidence of you watching porn it's a scam and they haven't. The From address can be easily spoofed.
