For the past few days i have been unable to sign into my blueyonder.co.uk email

For the past few days i have been unable to sign into my blueyonder.co.uk email account which i think now is because it wasn't linked to a VM02 ID and i am unable to reset my password or create a VM02 ID for that email account and have no back up. Virgin media call centre won't entertain me as I do not have an account with them only with 02 who say they have no email trouble shooting facility. Any ideas how i can access my blueyonder account as its my main long-standing account.

    Hi vaughanw,

Thanks for posting, you would need an active Virgin Media broadband account in order to continue using the email service. upon leaving, typically you'd have had 90 days before the email address would be removed.

As you've mentioned, you're no longer a virgin Media customer, I'm afraid the email account would no longer be able to be used.

Are you currently a VM broadband customer?

If you are not currently a VM broadband customer, your blueyonder mailbox is likely to be deleted.

VM has been very busy doing this for mailboxes which are not associated with a current VM broadband service.

      Hi vaughanw

      Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your concerns with accessing your Blueyonder email.

Do you have a residential Virgin Media broadband service with us?

Our residential email service is only available to existing Virgin Media broadband customers. When our broadband service is disconnected, the email access is usually removed within 90 days of the disconnection date. Sometimes this can take longer, and so email access can still be available after this time. These emails are known as orphaned accounts and would be removed when located in any system sweeps to clear out emails that are not linked to active broadband accounts. If this has occurred, it can seem that this was done without notice; however, we advise that the email service is removed within 90 days of the disconnection date, so if you retained access to the email after 90 days, this would have been when you were not eligible for the service.
Let us know if you do have an active broadband account with us, and we can investigate this further.

        Hi, Thank you for replying.

I had residential broadband with Virgin for twenty years then just before i moved to a non-Virgin area four years ago i purchased a dongle -which i still use- and had a mobile and dongle internet account with them until they switched my account over to 02 when they merged.

Unfortunately for me i was not made aware that i need a VM02id to continue using my Blueyonder email account and consequently had no back-up address to fall back on so i assume i have now lost all my emails,

(Am I right in thinking if you are switched over to 02 you are no longer a Virgin customer even though they are one in the same company).

        Regards V
