Flipping email

I have had an ntlworld account for 25 years, and still use virgin broadband, then virgin stopped supporting my email account a couple of months ago. I set up a secondary email as they requested and today  tried to log in to the account with the secondary email. The website requested the password and then brought up this screen:

I've gone around this loop twice now. I've set up a new password and been given a new third party password then gone back to try and log in to virgin email using my secondary email and new password and it brings up the screen above. After the first time, no email with verification has appeared in my secondary or virgin email accounts. My 3rd party email apps are still receiving emails with no change to passwords, which leads me to think the email service is completely up the spout. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm also trying to download my historical emails to mailstore, prior to diverting my emails to a new provider, but mailstore won't accept my old or new virgin email passwords. What is going on?
