Email

Came home on Wednesday 23 to discover no email since Tuesday none coming in or going out. Checked Virgin app to find there was an outage so waited before reporting via chat bot. Finally got Agent who said there was a fault in my box and send engineer out on Saturday 26.  Engineer thought it was tv fault and said a different team handled emails. Checked virgin mail and it has been locked obviously by them. Continually complained but not getting anywhere. Engineer plus two telephone operatives have changed password but still cannot get mail. That’s 7 days without mail. At the end of my patience with virgin rubbish service. They phone my mobile but when I answer they hang up then they say they cannot get in touch with you. Phoned again yesterday nobody there then they sent a voicemail which is blank. It’s very frustrating for a pensioner who cannot contact anyone. If I was a business would they fix it any quicker. Been with virgin since it was Telewest going to have to find a new provider with better service than this.

    Even if you stick with VM for your broadband and TV  I would suggest that you definitely need to switch to using an email account from a dedicated email provider. 

    Why do I say that?

    • VM stopped issuing new email accounts 3 years ago.
    • Since then, new VM customers do not get offered VM email accounts.
    • VM are actively closing  down the VM email accounts of former customers that are no longer paying for a VM service.
    • Even if you continue with VM email you will still need to have a non VM email account because VM's new email security measures require you to use non VM email address as your VM username.
    • so it seems pretty clear that VM do not see email as being part of their offering going forward.

    To regain access to your email account it sounds as if you need another password reset and to link your VM email account to a non VM email account.

    One of the VM Forum Team (VM staff who support this forum) will contact you via this thread either today or tomorrow and they may be able to help you get back into your VM email account.
