Email access gone

I have an NTLWORLD.COM email address. I have had it for 25+ years. 2 months ago i lost access to it. I have all sorts of accounts tied to this account. I am missing important hospital correspondence and lost access to tickets for events etc. I have made 9 phone calls to virgin (an absolue nightmare each time) and been messed around horribly. I have been told temporary technical fault. IT are looking at it. 2 months and no one can sort it.

I raised a complaint. They said they tried to contact me to resolve it (they didnt try to contact me). They say this every time i reply to the complaint but not a single phone call or missed call. We tried to contact you. Heres a solution, reset your password. This is not a solution. I cannot reset my password. Virgin have reset my password but i cannot access any page to log in.

"Customer support" got me to create a new virgin account under a gmail address. They then linked the old email address to the new account. When i click on virgin mail i get a "Page cannot be found" error. The address of the page it cannot find has "invalid credentials" in the link.

Under my VMO2 settings, if i click "manage my products", i get a "Something went wrong page"

Are they just trying to get me to go away and not have to deal with email any more? No one is addressing it. 9 calls and a complaint, several times being told i will be contacted by tect support but nothing is happening. No one is contacting me. People on complaints dont seem to care though they did offer me a £10 refund. Cheers that will make up for 2 months and counting of no email and lost tickets and who knows what important emails ive missed.

  • To further add. I moved house 6 months ago and got a new account. I was assured the email account would still be working. They say it hasnt been deleted but still cannot give me access to it.

      Hi Tones1971,

      You say that you lost access to your email 2 months ago.   This issue might actually be linked to you moving home 6 months ago.  VM always close down the old account and set up a new account when moving house.

      As part of that process VM  HomeMovers normally perform a  'Move and Transfer' which would move over your existing email address (es) and also update My Virgin Media allowing you to continue as before the home move, using exactly the same My Virgin Media login credentials which would be linked to your email address. 

      If they didn't perform the Move  and Transfer then your email account might have been closed down (around 90 days after the home move)

      VM Staff need to check if the Home movers team actually performed a "Move and Transfer"

        That was my thoughts too. But they insist it hasn't been. I did tell them when I moved I needed to keep the what address and they said it would be fine. One of the reasons for staying with them was to keep the email address

  • Same experience just getting nowhere with customer support, get the IT are sorting it. Cannot log in so see my bills and usage. Cannot wait for renewal to come round, then goodbye after nearly 30 yers of being happy. Starting to change all my email contacts to another non virgin email address.

    Obvious Virgin or TEefonica as it is now are not interested in loyalty

      Yeah I will not be renewing but unfortunately have another year to go. Not anywhere near the same company when I joined
