Can't sign in to Virgin email on PC (Firefox)

I have the same problem logging into VM webmail & My Account. I've tried different accounts to no avail. I'm using the latest Firefox 129.0.2.

On the same PC I can use MS Edge to log into webmail, My Account, etc. Likewise I can log in on Android (Chrome browser). I guess this is a Firefox problem. Maybe it will get a fix on the next FF update?

  • May not be a FF problem.....I should've updated on this!!

Try going to Add-ons and themes, then to Manage your extensions .....I found that disabling 'Malware Browser Guard' did the trick for me 🙂

Even if you don't have the Malware Browser Guard, you might have something that's preventing popups, which are required for logging into VM.

Same here! I turned off the Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension and I could sign in using FF.

Here's the head scratcher: I have the Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension in Edge too; so why didn't it block my log-in there as well?

Anyhow, your helpful advice will alert me to possible MBG shenanigans in future.

I did a bit more digging and found that you don't need to disable the Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension entirely.

On the page where you enter your password you can change the MBG settings for that page as follows:

      • Open the MBG settings and go to the Current Website tab.
      • Turn off protection for "Ads/Trackers" for the current website.
      • FF will advise that it needs to resend information to display the page, so click "Resend".
      • The page will reload; you will need to enter your password again and be able to log in successfully.

      I hope this helps.
