Can't access Secondary Email Account

Since late yesterday I have not been able to access emails on a secondary email account.

To compound matters I cannnot remember password for that particular email account

I have probably wrongly reset the virgin app password this morning but this hasn't worked.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Secondary emails no longer exist and are now mailboxes in there own right.  Have you created a new 3rd party email address for this mailbox?

I have had the email address for many years (ntlworld.com) but yesterday all of a sudden it asked for my password but unfortunately I cannot remember it.

The important bit is do you have a current paying VM account?  VM are currently purging mailboxes of non paying users.  Also you now need to create a 3rd party email address going forward to access email.  If you still have a paying account, you should be able to reset your password by signing into My Virgin Media.

    Thanks for your replies btw.

Yes I do have a paid account and I have given a 3rd party email address to them but it seemed to send me to a link that had me change a virgin app password and that doesnt seem to have done the trick

Can you login to your primary mailbox via My VM?  If you have a 3rd party email address for your primary, you also need another for your "secondary" mailbox.  Have to done that and can use it to logon to My VM to manage the "secondary" mailbox?

I've given 3rd party email to the email account that I cannot access but it links me to 'change a virgin app password and it doesn't work when I try and access my emails with the password they give me

When you go through this VM rigmarole of third-party email etc., I think that you do have to generate the app password as part of the process.

You only use the app password though if you are setting up an email client on a device (e.g. Thunderbird, Outlook app etc.)

If you are logging in to VM webmail, you use the third party email address as your login name and your regular VM password.
