Add BLUEYONDER email to VMEmail

I had 2 emails in my VMEmail Account but then was unable to access email 2 It randomly disappeared . I have had several gos at reading it but VMEmail does not recognise the password and asks me to configure manually . I do this with the imap and smtp settings on the VMweb page but it won't accept them and just gets stuck.

I have had two tries at using the chatline but it has not solved the problem . the first time I lost the chat window and the 2nd the VM assistant changed the email and password for my main VMaccount which had no affect on the Email account and did not help me to add the Blueyonder email into the account . it did not help because when I tried to sign in it requested I change the log in email to a non VM . s

so I am a days time poorer and in the same position I was before I started .

I just want to add an extra Blueyonder email account into VMEmail . why is it so difficult!!

I haven't even embarked on how to read it into the Mail App ( presumably with the App generated password) is Virgin making it deliberately difficult to do anything with VM Mail . And don't get me started on these stupid verification pictures .Why Why Why do I have to select fire hydrants , motorbikes, buses bridges and stairs over 20 times on the trot . and why are the images so appalling . come on Virgin Media . are you a reputable high tech company or a ramshackle outfit that gives little account of its customers .

  • Hello jamesBond1

Sorry to hear of the email issues experienced with your secondary address, we appreciate the confusion this has caused and you taking the time to raise this via the forums.

Firstly, capture is a security method to help keep your details safe and to ensure you're not a bot. This is active across many websites where a login is required to help keep your details safe and not set up specifically by Virgin Media to make life difficult, it's purely additional security steps.

In regards to the secondary email address, at some point have you been asked to update the email to a third party email address? If so, are you using that email address to try to log in to the secondary email account?

Follow these steps to update the password:

    • Sign in to My Virgin Media
    • Go to Account settings, then Account details
    • Tap Manage next to Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password under Virgin Media Mail
    • Then, under Virgin Media Mail app password tap Get password
    • Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked
    • Update any third-party apps that may be use to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new  app password.
