Access to virgin media secondary email via virgin media sit

I have been with VM for many years, having transferred from Telewest etc. I have been using a blueyonder email address for many years but a few years ago set up a virginmedia.com address. I can access my emails for both accounts through my iPhone using the mail app. However when I try to access my emails through the VM site I am only able to see emails for the blueyonder address. I am able to see the virginmedia.com email folder but it states empty when I click on it. Trying to expand the folders I get an error message “The provided login data to access e-mail server imap.virginmedia.com seems to be wrong. Please correct them.” I have tried logging out and signing in using the virginmedia.com credentials but get a password or email is incorrect. I did contact VM help desk a long time about this and they said they needed to implement some technical changes and would get back to me but they never did. Is anyone able to give assistance on how to resolve this if they’ve had a similar issue. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Black_dog thanks for your post here in the Community, we hope you're well.

Can you confirm firstly, are you trying to log in on your email with Virgin Media, through My Virgin Media with your virginmedia.com email address and password rather than your My Virgin Media username?

For more help too please see here.

    Many thanks

I’ve tried both. When I try to log in using the virgin media address it tells me that my email or password is incorrect. I’ve tried to reset password using forgot password option (even though I’m sure the password is correct) and I’m informed I can’t change my password online and to contact VM. This is the point that I got to many months previously when talking to the customer services who informed me that someone would contact me to resolve - nobody ever got back to me. I got frustrated at the amount of time waiting to speak to someone so gave up. Just keen to get this sorted without having to spend a long time on the phone trying to reach someone to help.

        Hello Tom

I have exactly the same issue, was just trying to look up a solution.  Sorry I've not got one but you're not alone with this.

Just to confirm.  When you try to change password does is say you can't because you don't have any details set up on the account (or something like) and to ring VM.  Mine does
