Hu3 to Hub 5

On Friday, I had my Hu3 changed to the Hub 5, everything is working dine, but what i tried to set up my smart plugs, it would not connect over 2.5 Hz. When I tried to log into the Hub 5, the password was showing for the Hub 3, and when I did chance the password, it came  up as the wrong password, so I'm thinking My Pc still thinks I have the Hub 3 still as my router?

How can I remove the Hu3, and change the password on the Hub 5?

    I'm guessing you have the Connect app.  This will change the new Hub's Wifi SSID and passwords to be the same as the old Hub.  However, it will not change the Hub's settings password.  You will find the settings password on the bottom of the Hub 5.  Note it may help to take a photo of this and enlarge it on your phone.  The printing can be a bit suspect and sometimes the characters of the password are not clear.

  • Snap, I have just had a hub 5 installed, but can't log into the router, as the password, on the bottom of the router, is showing as "wrong password"

      It may be the Hub hasn't been reset before shipping?  Try a 60 second factory pinhole reset as below;
      Remove any ethernet cables from the Hub and hold the pinhole reset switch for 60 seconds.  Do NOT reboot the Hub, just let it do it's thing. Note you will need the passwords from the bottom of the Hub afterwards, so make sure they are legible. NOTE this will remove any custom settings you may have set in the Hub, and they will all have to be setup again.

      This should reset the Hub's password back to the one on the bottom of the Hub.  Note this is not the Wifi password, but the Settings password. They are two different passwords.

      If none of this works, the only option is a replacement Hub, as there is no recovery method.
