Wi-Fi signal intermittent (especially on phones)

We recently joined virgin media (last month) as we were out of contract with another provider. Ever since joining, our Wi-Fi has been hit and miss around our house. iPads, tvs etc can buffer at times and sometimes are not able to be watched. The worst signal though seems to be on our phones, they rarely are connected to the internet despite having a full Wi-Fi signal. It’s not just my phone but my wife’s and also our daughters.

I have spoken to virgin over the phone and found them to be most unhelpful, they just run through the same tips and ask to reset the router etc but this doesn’t change anything. One of the workers arranged an engineer to come for the following week but they did not turn up. Upon a further phone call, it turns out the engineer cancelled the appointment without informing us. I’m reluctant to call again as they don’t seem to offer any further help. I am starting to wish we hadn’t gone with virgin. Any advice?

  • Thanks for reaching out to us Erimus, and welcome to our Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of the issues experienced with our Wi-Fi services.

Are you able to confirm if any wired connections struggle on our connection at all?

It may be worth clicking this link to help you combat the Wi-Fi issues you’re experiencing.

In addition to this, to help resolve Wi-Fi connection issues, we offer our customers the opportunity to obtain Wi-Fi Pods, with our Wi-Fi Max scheme.

If you're on a connection of 1GB or have Volt Benefits, Wi-Fi max would be issued to you from free, but without either of these qualifications, it would be an additional cost of £8.00 per month.

    Thanks,
