To move my virgin media wall socketfrom living room to other bedroom

Hi Team,

I need to move my virgin media wall socket from living room to a bedroom (where I work). Could you please let me know if that is possible ?

Currently my WiFi signal is not reaching to the room where I work. For that, am using LAN cable, but that gives a disadvantage to me on not being able to close the doors, and having the clutter of cable in the house.

I appreciate the help that can be provided on this.

£25 fee to move the Hub as a non fault call out fee.  However you will just be moving the Wifi problem somewhere else.  Have a look at using Powerline Adaptors to get an ethernet and Wifi connection to your work bedroom.  Alternatively VM can supply Wifi Pods to extend the Wifi coverage.  They are £8pm or free depending on your Contract.

  • Hi Adduxi,

Thanks for your reply. That helps. Can I request virgin media support to have an appointment with me, and I am ready to pay the 25 GBP if needed. But I want expert to look at my home and suggest to move wall socket or WiFi pods or the other options. Either of the options, but I want that to be a reliable option. Thanks.

      Hi pavansept18,

Thank you for your post. With regards to the appointment for the £25 cost. The engineer wouldn't be able advise what is the best steps. They would only be able to complete the assigned work to them. Such as moving the socket.

  • I have ordered one WiFi pod, let me see if that solves the issue. If not, will reply here.

Just remember the Pods work by re-transmitting the wifi signal from the Hub, so they are designed to go between the Hub and the blackspot, i.e. not in the room with the weak signal.

Thanks pavansept18, we'll be sure to pick this up when you provide us with an update, and we can arrange for an engineer appointment at the cost of £25.00 if required.

      Thanks,
