Port forwarding

Since moving to Virgin from sky my WD MyCloud Home device isnt working.

The device is showing as offline. I have set the mac address to a dedicated IP address.

I have also forwarded ports 80,443 and 8443 as these are what WD are stating need to be open.

I have also forwarded Hub 5 and the hub shows the mycloud device as connected

Can anyone advise if ports 443 and 8443 are blocked and any advice?

If Port forwarding was not needed for the last ISP's Router, I'd be surprised if it is needed for VM

Hub 5 supports 100/1000 on the Gigiabit ports, this has resulted in some issues mostly where 10Mb/s heating controller devices are not supported but there has also been reports that a NAS device with a Gigabit port failed to connect to the Hub 5.

A basic Gigabit switch was used as a go between as it worked with the Hub 5 and the NAS.

Can the WD MyCloud Home device be accessed from the LAN of the Hub 5 ?

Does the cloud service relay on knowing your Public IP, because that will have changed for the VM service. Take care not to be registering the wrong public IP by using a VPN or Apple Relay.

These ports are not blocked when hub is in modem mode and VM don't support Port forwarding when in router mode.

Its unlikely that you need ports 80 and 443 forwarded you might find you need to put hub in modem mode with a better router to get the full VM service.
