Poor Wi-Fi speed

I'm constantly getting poor Wi-Fi speed in spare bedroom. This was even after when we had package upgraded including faster Wi-Fi speed. We were unwilling to pay extra for a pod so had another type fitted. This helped a little bit but now I am back to having poor Wi-Fi speed in spare bedroom again. Need the Wi-Fi signal in room for the tv. It's mostly live tv, one station in particular. Picture keeps freezing (circle in middle of tv goes round and round). Tried everything advised and problem still exists.

You can't improve a poor WiFi speed in your house by paying for faster broadband. If Virginmedia told you that, you were miss-sold, and you won't have been the first.

The WiFi performance of the very cheap and basic VM Hubs is poor, and if you want to cover a whole house you will need to add better WiFi device/s.  This might be the VM Pods if you qualify for them free, or something better that you can buy for yourself.

For devices needing best performance like TV and games, you should use ethernet connections whenever possible.

Thanks for your reply. VM did tell us that it would be worthwhile paying for faster broadband. I guess we have indeed been miss-sold. They also told us that we don't qualify for free VM pods because we don't have O2 accounts. We feel The monthly cost for a VM pod is too much. The Pod we have apparently is supposed to be a good one. It's Huawei pod. An ethernet connection sounds the best idea but would need an extra extra long cable as my room is upstairs. Would I be able to buy an extra long Ethernet and if so, where could I purchase one? We do have another hub box upstairs in an other room but the router is downstairs. Thanks for your time.
