Old house , poor Wi-Fi at one side of the house

My house is seriously Victorian and has two foot thick walls ; the signal on the right had side, open gable where the hub/router is located, is bang on. The signal on the left hand side is much poorer, both upstairs and downstairs.

my big problem, is on the left hand side, where the recently installed security camera ( Wi-Fi ) is mounted. It is struggling to connect to the hub. We have electrical sockets in abundance on the left hand side of the house and I believe the pods will correct the problem.

Im on the MegaTV package for reference.

can someone help please.

In that situation you are unlikely to cover the whole house with one access point on one side.

If your contract entitles you to free Pods, you could try them one at a time carefully located. Otherwise you are going to have to invest in your own WiFi solution, probably a mesh system more efficient than the Pods.

My contract says I can have “up to 3 pods if I need them” ?

Then use the WiFi Connect app which will show the poor signal levels and allow you to order them.

mesh systems and plugs may struggle through though thick wall still as they will rely on the strength of signal to talk to each other unless you have ethernet cabling available to backhaul for a mesh system. However I have had very good results with Devolo Magic 2 plugs in my home as they use the power cables for the transmission between devices and then wifi and ethernet from the plugs themselves. It is just that you said you had power points a plenty you see. So consider that as an option too.
