New Hub 5 - Existing Wifi Pod Compatibility

I've upgraded my Wifi with VM from 500Mbs to 1Gb and Im due to get a new Hub 5 to replace my existing Hub 3 on Wednesday.
I asked both the VM sales contact and the tech staff they transferred me to to ask if the new Hub 5 would be compatible with my existing 3 Wifi Pods that help spread the signal upstairs to my kids rooms.

I couldn't get a definitive answer on the phone & being a cynical old sod Im pre-empting my Pods no longer working and the kids complaining of no wifi - as opposed to thanking me for doubling the speed.

When this Hub 5 comes I understand the Hub 3 is taken away - this being the case I also assume the Hub is installed by the VM engineer before he takes away the old one.

Question to the community:
Is this the case and can I also ask the engineer to make sure my Wifi Pods are all working with the new Hub and my Connect App before he/she leaves?

Thanks

  • Are you sure an engineer is visiting to replace the HUB?

The pods should be registered with the new HUB at point of swap over, automatically, however, this is always the case.

  • Hello W0LF1E,

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums.

As you've been advised that the pods should automatically connect to your new hub 5, when its activated. I'm surprised that the team wasn't able to make you aware of that, however if the pods dont connect to the hub, please let us know here and we'll be able to help from here.

Also as carl_pearce asked, are you sure an engineer is coming out to swap your routers as this would normally done by yourself with the router sent out to you for home delivery.

    Kind Regards,
