Re: Disney+ showing USA content

A few days ago the Disney app would only show me content as if I were in the US. My husband assumed it was to do with Disney so he called them and they said restart your TV and it worked.

Tonight the Netflix app is doing the same thing, and just turning it off and on again isn't working. We don't use VPNs and using whatsmyipaddress.com shows that we are definitely 'registered' as being in Middlesbrough.

We can only conclude this is now an internet provider issue for it to be happening on two different apps within a few days.

Any tips please?

What equipment are you using to watch the app?

Is this a VM TV box or a third party setup?

It's an LG TV, bought earlier than year. It's the built-in apps on the TV.

I am having the exact same problem with Netflix. I used Netflix's suggested test https://fast.com/ to identify the region that the client thinks it is in and it shows me as being in Stockton, California, US rather than Stockton on Tees, UK.

I am having the same region issue on both of my TV360 boxes, 3 PCs and mobile phones. On my mobile if I switch off Wi-Fi and restart Netflix it shows my correct region (i.e. Top 10 Shows in UK rather US).

I am not using a VPN either so can only assume that this must be a Virgin Media network issue.

Disney had exactly the same thing - said we were in Stockton California! My husband messaged Netflix last night about our location on Netflix settings saying US but they said they couldn't do anything about it.

I'm hoping VM looks into it because if we use our 5G then it reverts back to UK so it *must* be the WiFi!

Same issue here, both Disney and Netflix now showing only US shows. Virgin sort it out!
