Locked replys/Arris sorry super hub

This post is kind of saying you shouldn’t be promised a certain mb wifi speed in every room r they will give you the £100 or how much it was the wifi vm promise thing

luckily it’s not true omni direction cheap antennas and cut down versions of hubs that weren’t good before they were rebranded ain’t ever going to to be good

did you know a Cisco business ap or wifi hub can beam a signal through a whole shopping Center ……. Our wifi can’t go to the next room without though a wall

I think you will find the type of Wireless Access Point to do this cost well over £1000. Something like this costs £1500 and supports over 1500 users: https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/pro/category/all-wifi/products/uwb-xg

VM could certainly offer much better hubs, but unfortunately the down side would be that people’s bill would go up by a large amount. So what they do is provide a system that is just adequate for the largest number of customers, but of course it does not satisfy a growing number of customers. There are also external factors like more people working at home due to/since COVID and the much greater use of streaming rather than linear TV.

    Why not?

Get pods to ensure you have at least 30Mbps in all rooms of your home? Great.

£100 for not getting the minimum speed? Great.

'Average' consumers get pulled into this sort of stuff and allows VM to bring in more users, and so more money. Great.

Above average consumers understand cheap rented kit is just that, and you need to invest in your own to benefit from faster broadband speeds.

    I don't see the issue.

  • If you can't get WiFi through a wall, then drill a hole for an Ethernet cable.

    It takes two to tango.

It never occurs to folks that Wi-Fi is a two way radio process.

Quite often the poor signal from a tiny antenna in mobile phone or laptop is what lets down the Wi-Fi connection.
