LG TV connected to internet, unable to use.

I have a hub5 for a few months, have been using youtube etc on my LG tv via a cat5 cable. This morning this has stopped, when I check the connection on my TV it says its connected, but none of the apps will play. I've changed cat5 cables and still the same thing, I know the other cables are working. I switched to wifi, it says connection but no internet I have also linked my TV to my Iphone via hotspot and its working fine.

Has anyone had this problem? If so, how did you correct it?

  • With my Samsung TV every so often I have to physically unplug it for 10 minutes to restore connectivity.

A lot of TV's can't connect to the internet if the time and/or date is incorrect so check those settings.

Have you rebooted the LG TV?   Is there an update waiting to be installed on your LG TV?

When you linked the TV to the iphones hotspot, was the iphone using the internet signal from your hub5, or was it connected to the internet via the sim cards wifi?

Have you tried rebooting your hub5?  What colour are the lights on the hub5?

Have you used the /check-services/   function to check for problems in your area? You can also a run a test on your equipment from there.

If nothing is showing  you could also try the automated Service Status number  0800 561 0061.  This often gives details of more local issues down to postcode level.

I unplugged both the TV & router overnight, have managed to get the TV connected via wifi, still can't get hardwired connection, even when it's telling it's connected to the internet. Last light my daughter's samsung phone was telling her that her phone was connected to the wifi without internet, it ,said that the wifi wasn't connected to the internet along with a firestick on another TV. However my iphone and ipad are fine using wifi.

I have also factory reset the tv and checked that the time & date are correct.

  • It’s more than the TV now, noticed yesterday my nest smoke alarm went offline at the same time as the problems with the TV. This morning my daughter’s PC which is hardwired is not connecting to the internet and the problems with her phone not connecting have returned.

Starting to think it’s a problem with the hub5.

  • From the network log over the last couple of days.

    SYNC timing sync failure

    No Ranging Response Received

DHCP Warning Non critical field invalid in response

    DS profile assignment change

RNG-RSP CCAP commanded power in excess of 6 dB.

Now my 360 box is having connection problems (CS9994) it’s hardwired to my router. Tried both hardwired & WiFi, same problem.

Probably need someone to come out & check everything in house and outside.

      Hi again,

What colour lights are showing on the hub 5 and  are they solid/flashing?

If you haven't already done so then perform a factory reset of the hub exactly as shown below.

Remove all ethernet cables from the hub 5 and then hold in the reset button for a timed 60 seconds.  Leave the hub alone for around 7 or 8 minutes to allow it to fully reset and follow the normal boot sequence.

Try following the instructions suggested by the online help for /tv-error-codes/cs9994/start It should check for local fault and possibly show you how to check the connections, along with also possibly arranging a tech appointment.
