Laptop Connection Issues 5GHZ

Hello,

I have an issue when trying to connect my Dell laptop, Windows 11 business, to my 5GHz network at home.

I currently have my WiFi setup with a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz network. I can connect to the 2.4 without any issues, but when I connect to the 5 I am connected without any internet. The 2.4 is a little slow and this is why i would like to connect to the 5.

Can anyone help with this?

How are you achieving this?  Are you using the standard Hub with a split SSID, or something else?

Have you ever paused the Dell laptop at anytime with the Connect app?

      Hi,

I've done this through the settings on the hub. Some of my smart items, heating monitor, will only operate on 2.4ghz.

I didn't realise I could pause it on the app. I'll take a look at this.

It's possibly the channel that the HUB is using for 5GHz, which you can adjust instead of leaving on auto.

Although, a channel issue would usually mean no connection at all.

A few more angles of inquiry ...

Which VM Hub do you have and what other VM Pods / Wi-Fi Repeaters etc do you have ?

Are any other device connected to the 5GHz Wi-Fi of the Hub and are working ?

Look in the Hub admin menu at http://192.168.0.1/      ( use the Hub password )
the "Connected devices"  page shows which devices are on Ethernet / 2.4 or 5 GHz.

Is your laptop listed there and does it have an IP allocated in the 192.168.0.xxx range ?
