IP Locations are largely an educated guess based on discovering where you are or where you have defined as home for websites, search engines etc.
What do you see as the location in the link below make sure the ISP is Virgin Media - jpeg1Alessandro Volta
VM don't say where you are, that's down to companies who track you on the internet. It will eventually show your correct location, whether you want it or not. It's one reason why people use a VPN.

Mine has been wrong for a few weeks now, don’t really care as long as it’s in the UK.

so my IP address is on the site you mentioned is [MOD EDIT: Personal details] and in Plymouth now but the IP on my PC network is showing 192.168.0.38, confused.com!! So just dont worry about is tha answer I guess

192.168.0.38 is the internal network IP of the individual device you are using. Nothing to do with your location.

I wouldn't worry about it, however if it makes you feel better then go to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ again, and click on the green "Update my IP Location" link which is below the map.
This will take you to another screen and if you follow the instructions that site updates your location. It might happen immmediately or it may take a few days, but other sites may also update once that one has.
You can also check your location using other sites, however they may also provide different locations.
Try https://www.whatismyip.com/ and also https://www.iplocation.net/ip-lookup

Other apps can plonk you elsewhere too. The weather app deleted my settings and concluded that I was in London. Geo-IP has put me in several places near where I actually am; one location was really close, but no cigar.

What we did not read is if the ISP is shown as Virgin Media Limited.
If the ISP is anything other than VM the location variation may be caused by use of an always on VPN / Apple Relay / a Security package like Norton that uses an internet proxy server. - AdduxiVery Insightful Person
I've just checked and my location is showing about 600 miles away with the correct ISP. Do I care, no. It's still a UK location, so that's fine.
