Hub 5 and CCTV

Hi everyone.

I have recently had an upgrade from hub 4 to 5 and now my Annke cctv cannot be viewed remotely. It is a hard wired POE system. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it and now, it doesn't.

I have gone round and round with Virgin "technical help" they decided they couldn't help me and sent me an "engineer" despite me stating unless he knew how to open up the ports it was a waste of our time.... When he arrived, having "checked my connections" (Connections that hadn't failed and hadn't changed) decided he couldn't help me... 3 phone calls to his manager, we determined he didn't have a clue either...

Someone please help! My home security is at risk.

Thanks for reading and any advice proffered.

  • I had this exact issue with ANNKE NVR and Hub 5 (after upgrading from Hub 3). A quick reset of the network settings on the ANNKE NVR and it'll reconnect just fine. You can either login on your NVR and do this manually or use the ANNKE app to remotely do it.

Details are in the ANNKE support guides.

Hi there. Thanks again for the replies. I finally got home and decided to go down the reset route.

Did a factory reset. Cameras come back up but still no external network details and still no ability to remote view my cameras...

Please, can some one help or explain what (probably obvious) thing I'm doing wrong?

      Cheers.

I'm off on holiday soon, and I really would like to remedy this problem...

        Thanks.

The longer term answer is to set up the cctv to your own router. Then you can use any Hub in dumb modem mode without affecting the camera access.

I recently changed my router from connecting to a Hub 4, to going straight to an ONT.  Completely seamless for the cctv and all the other connected devices.

  • I'm really sorry for being a pain. I know I have a couple of different answers. But I'm really limited in my technical ability. I don't want to go down a new modem route. Could someone please help me out with a step by step guide?

Find the ANNKE manual, or download it.  Reinstall the CCTV from new, as you did before with the Hub 4.
