It's part of the troubleshooting process. If the red LED persists after this, a Hub swap is generally done. It is a risk to have a faulty overheat warning light.
Wait here a couple of days for a VM Mod to pick this up and discuss directly with you.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our Community.
Sorry to hear you are having an issue with your hubs red light.Can you ensure the hub is away from any direct source of heat and in a well ventilated place.
I'd like to take a look into this for you, as we will need to get this swapped.
