Disabling wi-fi from Hub 3.0 problem

I cannot access my hub 3.0 settings page to temporarily disable my wi-fi. I put 192.168.0.1 into the browser and it says ‘the site can’t be reached’ and ‘the connection was reset’. I have tried many of the suggestions I have read about including re-booting and using an ethernet cable. I would be grateful for any advice in very simplistic terms.

  • I have managed to access the settings page by using another browser. Thanks for your help.

    Try a 60 second factory pinhole reset as below;
    Remove any ethernet cables from the Hub and hold the pinhole reset switch for 60 seconds.  Do NOT reboot the Hub, just let it do it's thing. Note you will need the passwords from the bottom of the Hub afterwards, so make sure they are legible. NOTE this will remove any custom settings you may have set in the Hub, and they will all have to be setup again.

    Note any work on the settings admin console should be done via a cabled connection for stability.

    Also if you use the Connect app, it may well turn the Wifi back on, as it's job is to "intelligently" manage the Wifi ...

      I have done this and I still cannot access hub settings. The icon says 'Your connection to this site is not secure'.  Any other advice would be helpful.

        My connection to the Hub is noted as "not secure" but it still works.  I am in modem mode hence the different IP btw.

        The security is prompted as the Hub is not using a https address.  Connect via a direct wired connection, e.g. laptop and it should work.  I would advise never access the Hub's console via Wifi, it's liable to disconnections.

    Thank you I have never had access to the settings. I am worried about doing this as I may be out of my depth and loose the internet or cause a problem. Is that a possibility?

    You cannot do any permanent harm. If anything goes wrong you only have to do the 69 second reset and start again!

    There doesn't appear to be any mention of the browser you are using.

    I have exactly the same problem using Firefox but when I tried it in Safari it worked perfectly.

    Try a different browser before messing with any settings.
