Cannot See/connect Home Network Connections

    The Hub3 will not isolate devices on your LAN from one another.

    First thing is to ensure your network setting on Windows is set to Private network, not Public network. When set to public mode it will harden Windows firewall to block connections from the LAN. When set to private mode it will allow some common LAN connections.

    I'm assuming your goal is to set up shared folders....

    1. Select the Start  button, then select Settings .

    2. In the Find a setting search bar, type manage advanced sharing settings and select Manage advanced sharing settings from the suggested results.

    3. In the Advanced sharing settings window that appears, under Private, select Turn on Network discovery and Turn on file and printer sharing.

The most likely cause is that the home network has been assigned to the ‘public’ profile and Windows blocks any sort of network discovery or file sharing. If this is the case then you would need to switch the network to being on a ‘private’ profile.

This link goes to a page which describes how to chance and change it if necessary, it has screen shots which does make it a lot easier to follow than my attempting to explain it. Ir does refer to Windows 11, but Windows 10 is effectively the same.

The other possibility is that the built-in Windows firewall is blocking the connections but switching the profile should enable it.
