Accessing Hub 3

My Hub 3 has suddenly become insecure. We run a Deco Mesh system round the house which is secure but the actual Hub is not. I have tried rebooting and also a factory reset but nothing works. I either get a black screen by typing 192.168.0.1 , or “Safari Can’t Open the Page” by typing 192.168.100.1.

There are so many conflicting and highly confusing comments to wade through, but I just want to access the admin page and work out why we are suddenly insecure. I can access the internet through the Hub but it keeps disappearing from the WiFi list when trying to find it. I’m totally frazzled!!!

Do we need a new Hub? The 3 seems very old now.

  • Resolved! Hub 3 knackered. Hub 5 installed and all secure. No way of telling how long we’ve been insecure but the locks are securely fastened and we’re happy.
Thank you to all who tried to help.

You are unable to access the VM Hub, that appear to be very secure.

But is this because via your Deco Mesh system the DHCP range is not 192.168.100.xxx which would be required to access a Modem mode VM Hub at 192.168.100.1 ?

I am trying to access the VM Hub 3 without going through the Mesh.

You could press RESET on the Hub 3 for 60 seconds
and then leave the Hub 3 powered on to revert to the factory condition.

Once this completes the Hub 3 will be in Router mode
& the admin menu will be at 192.168.0.1

A DHCP enabled laptop / PC etc. will access the Hub at : http://192.168.0.1/

Thanks Tudor. As I said in the post I have tried a reboot and factory reset with no results. I have no idea what a power cycle of the hub is.

Two things you could try, 1) power cycle the hub and if that does not work 2) a pin-hole reset. Be aware that 2) will remove any setting you have made to the hub.
