2.4ghz WiFi keeps turning off

Question

There are plenty of discussions on this topic already. But now it's affected me too.

I have my internet split into separate bands. 2ghz and 5ghz because I have network plugs that only work on 2ghz.

For the last couple of months the 2ghz keeps dropping off randomly. My ring doorbell, my plugs, all loose connection. I have to factory reset the hub EVERY TIME for it to resume working. I'm spending so much time messing around with this. Common Virgin, you've known about this issue for months now. What's being done about it?

What hub do have out of interest. Have you checked Channel Optimization is turned off, sign into your hub and when you have selected Advanced Settings you will also need to select Wireless, Wireless Signal and click on Disable Channel Optimization at the bottom then click on Apply Changes.

If you are using Virgins Wi-Fi pods they require the hub's Channel Optimization to be enabled.

VM would like you not to change settings in router mode and to do with wifi they don't test wifi settings its only is meant to work phone and PC/laptop.

For stable wifi you should use hub in modem mode and get your own 3rd party router with 2.5Gb ports like this one.
