Volt 1gb speed

Hi there can one of you’re team let me know when, I will get my speed upgrade, as I on M500 and got told that as I’m with O2 I will get a speed upgrade to 1gb in 14 days it’s 4 weeks now and still not got it, any help would be helpful

  • Hi there we joined virgin broadband about 3 weeks ago now, we on m500 package but because I’m with O2 I suppose to get it increased to 1gb, but I’m only getting 550mb with my WiFi, but when I go to my sons & he’s on m500 I get 500mg, so I’m not sure if my virgin volt package with increased speed is working, I phoned virgin customer service & there think it is, can any help

VM never ever guarantee that the speed of WiFi is what your plan speed is, there are too many external factors involved. The speed quoted by VM is for your internet connection TO the hub, not what you are likely to receive even on an Ethernet connected device.

    Hi Jonthy

What speed does it show to your hub on the following page?

    https://samknows.com/realspeed/

I've enclosed two pictures showing my speed tests, one using a wired (ethernet) connection and one on wifi using a mobile device.  Notice the wifi is as expected slower than a wired connection.

You should also check the speed you have been provisioned at by typing 192.168.0.1 in a browser and looking at the configuration settings for the hub. Advanced settings > Tools > Network status > Configuration.

Under Primary downstream service flow > Max Traffic Rate it should something like 1230000450 bps if Gig1 is enabled.
